Special places in Menorca: s'Aigo Dolça
Starting a new chapter in our blog, we will be talking about beautiful places to anchor during the day, always respecting the weather conditions, especially the winds.
The place we recommend today is s'Aigo Dolça, just off Cala Blanca to the left (sailing from the port of Ciutadella is south along the coast towards the Cap d'Artruix lighthouse) before reaching the tip of the lighthouse, the turquoise bottom is easily identifiable.
A spectacular sandy bottom, with incredible turquoise waters and transparent waters that are difficult to describe. Access by land is very difficult because the whole area is bordered by a low cliff.
Anchoring is easy because of the sandy bottom, but nowadays it is a very popular area for sailors. Beware of north-westerly, south-westerly and westerly winds, it is better not to be in the area. On days with north, northeast, east, south and southeast winds, it is an ideal place to anchor and enjoy this beautiful spot.
If you come to Ca s'Arader, we will be happy to show you how to get to this beautiful corner of crystal clear waters.

Ca s’Arader is named after Menorca’s artisan carpenters that used the wood from the indigenous wild olive tree to make all kinds of farming tools. In the olden days it was an essential role for the islands economy that was passed on from fathers to sons. Today, the few artisan carpenters or araders that are left, mostly make gates, tables, benches or stalls amongst other items.
