THE BEACH OF PATRÓ LLORENÇ, A BEACH IN FRONT OF THE ISLAND OF EN COLOM!

The beach of Patró Llorenç, a beach in front of the island of En Colom!

Continuing along the camí de cavalls towards Mahón, at a certain point you have to turn off to reach this area and Cala en Vidrier (which we will talk about in the next blog). We continue in the ANEI of the Albufera de es Grau, along the stretch of coast in front of the islet of En Colom, we can find several small coves of fine golden sand, one of which is the one we are talking about today.  It is an unspoilt beach with no services of any kind. Its ideal access is by sea, although it is advisable to bring water and something to provide shade. Its location in front of the islet of En Colom makes it a place protected from all storms, it is affected by all winds, but the waves hardly reach it (especially in summer). The most remarkable thing about these small beaches is that they are normally not very frequented and are usually reached by kayak or small boats. These small beaches with crystal clear waters and golden sandy bottoms are quiet places where you can spend a nice summer day.

S'ARADER

Ca s’Arader is named after Menorca’s artisan carpenters that used the wood from the indigenous wild olive tree to make all kinds of farming tools. In the olden days it was an essential role for the islands economy that was passed on from fathers to sons. Today, the few artisan carpenters or araders that are left, mostly make gates, tables, benches or stalls amongst other items.
